Sciencenter is a hands-on science museum in Ithaca, New York. It was founded in February 1983 having grown out of the volunteer-run science program run at a number of elementary schools in the Ithaca City School District.Cite web|url=http://www.sciencenter.org/aboutus/d/sciencenterhistory.pdf|title=A History of the Sciencenter|accessdate=2008-05-16|publisher=Sciencenter|year=2006-04|author=Charles H.
