Golden Era
Factory entered it's golden era during 80's. In this era factory had near 20.000 employees. The design offices of Prva petoletka have designed hydraulic systems in almost all hydroelectric power plants in
Yugoslavia , the complete hydraulic drive on a class of massive roto-excavators for surface mines, systems for drive and control of scenery technique ofNational Theatre in Belgrade , electro-hydraulic system for lifting of the main dome of theTemple of Saint Sava in Belgrade, hydraulics for modern 2nd generation tankM-84 ,inclined marine railway installed in the Shipyard inKladovo , as well as all larger centralized lubrication systems in Yugoslavia. The lifting of the main dome of the Temple of Sveti Sava in Belgrade
The height of the dome is 37m and together with the cross of 10m in height it weighs 40.000kN. Such an element was lifted at height of 43m. Arch carriers and pendentive occupy the rest of the space, between the dome and the supporting construction.
"Prva petoletka" was an important exporter, which delivered its products in over 30 countries on all continents. With the biggest achieved export of about 40% of production, "Prva petoletka" has delivered more hydraulics and pneumatics into the world than have all the domestic and foreign manufacturers together into Yugoslavia.
Petoletka cooperated with some of the greates world companies like
Martin Merkel Hamburg,Boeing ,Messier -Bugatti ,Lucas ,Bendix ,Wabco Westinghouse Hannover...Black Days for Petoletka
In 90's Yugoslavia collapsed and war started in
Croatia and Bosnia.International sanctions were imposed by theUnited Nations , which led to political isolation and economic decline of Serbia. PPT lost its ability to export products and big crisis started for factory and it's workers. Many high-profile engineers left Petoletka during 90's and started their own private companies. State did not have funds to invest in factory's machines and equipment and this resulted that most of factory's equipment became obsolete.PPT today
Black days of 90's made deep scar on PPT.Until today factory never recovered. PPT is not privatized yet, and factory workers are still hoping that process of privatization will help PPT to rise up and became most powerful industry of hydraulics and pneumatics in
The Balkans once again. The first tender for the sale of Prva Petoletka in June, 2005 was unsuccessful. The second tender was opened in November, 2007 also failed. Serbian government decided to sell factory in parts because there were no interested sides to buy entire Prva Petoletka A.D.
