Hjerkinn

Hjerkinn is a village in Dovre, Oppland, Norway. It is one of the driest places in the country, with only 222 mm annual precipitation. [cite web |url=http://www2.nsb.no/multimedia/archive/00032/Zine_NSB_04-05_32518a.pdf |author=Norges Statsbaner |title=32518] .

The railway station Hjerkinn Station is located on Dovrebanen, at 1017 metres above mean sea level. It is also served by a small airport. Until 1993 there was mining by Folldal Gruver. The Norwegian military has a camp at Hjerkinn.
