Tsuyoshi Wada

Nihongo|Tsuyoshi Wada|和田 毅|Wada Tsuyoshi|born February 21 1981 in Konan, Aichi is a Japanese baseball player. He plays for the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks, in the Pacific League. He is a left handed pitcher. After appearing at Koshien for the high school national championships he was, he pitched for Waseda University for four years. After successfully becoming Waseda's ace and leading the team to two Tokyo Big6 championships, he was drafted by the then Fukuoka Daiei Hawks. He won the Pacific League Rookie of the year award in 2003, having a record of 14 wins and 5 losses and an ERA of 3.38 over 26 games. In the following season he went 10-6 with a 4.35 ERA, a performance that still ranked 12th in Japan. Wada married gravure idol Kasumi Nakane in 2005. He also participated in the 2006 Major League Baseball Japan All-Star Series.
