Meridian Urban Center Historic District is a historic district in Meridian, Mississippi, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 18, 1979. The district is rectangular, bounded by 21st and 25th Aves, 6th St, and the former Gulf, Mobile and Ohio Railroad. In 1872, 25th Avenue was the principal north-south axis in Meridian, and the streets running parallel to the tracks (Front, 4th, and 5th streets) were just beginning to develop. Commercial success built on railroading resulted in a large range of late 19th and early 20th Century architectural styles from Italianate row buildings to an Art Deco skyscraper known as the Threefoot Building.
