Fish and Game New Zealand is a lobby group set up to advocate for recreational fishing in New Zealand.
It was set up under the Conservation Act 1987 with the statutory responsibility for the sports of freshwater sport fishing and gamebird hunting. They are funded predominantly from the sale of hunting and fishing licenses.
Dirty dairying campaign
Fish and Game started the high profile "dirty dairying" campaign to highlight the problems caused by intensification of dairy faming on the ecological health of New Zealand's freshwater environment.
