Sir Hugh Selby Norman-Walker,
KCMG , OBE (Chinese: 羅樂民, 1916 - 1985) was an officer in the BritishColonial Office .Norman-Walker was the son of Colonel J Norman-Walker CIE IMS of the Indian Army. He was educated at
St Cyprian's School Eastbourne , andSherborne School . He then attendedCorpus Christi College, Cambridge and competed in theCambridge University Athletics team.He was in the colonial service in India and by the 1960s was in charge in
Nyasaland overseeing its transition to independence asMalawi . [K. J. He then became the Colonial Secretary ofHong Kong from 1969 - 1973. He served as a Colonial Secretary under the Governorship of SirDavid Clive Crosbie Trench and LordMacLehose of Beoch . From October to November 1971 Norman Walker was Administrator of Hong Kong.On leaving Hong Kong he was in line to become
Lieutenant-Governor of theIsle of Man . But when it became known that his wife, an artist, would not accompany him to that posting, he was forced to decline the position.References
