December 4 ,1986 inHouston, Texas , he was a two-sport star at Memorial High School, splitting time betweenfootball andbaseball , before he suffered a back injury ending his brief football career.He hit .413 as a junior, with 4 home runs and 23 RBIs in 2004. University of Texas at Austin to playthird base onNovember 17 ,2004 .He was drafted by The Houston Astros and signed with them and opted out of University Of TexasMinor leagues
