Seward attended college in his hometown of Las Vegas for the
University of Nevada, Las Vegas , where he played four years for the Rebels. Seward was known as a versatile player while in college, as he played all three linebacker positions. He was rewarded for his prowess with three All-Mountain West Conference honors. When he graduated in 2004, he left as the all-time leader in tackles (433) in both UNLV and MWC history.
