Manufacturers Record

Richard Hathaway established the "Manufacturer's Record" of Baltimore in 1882. He had previously worked for the "Journal of Commerce" of Baltimore, as a clerk, bookeeper and finally as an editor. A few months after the Record was established, Hathaway's brother, William H. Edmonds, became a partner and business manager of the paper, a position he held until his death in 1898.
