Robert Somervaille

Robert Duncan Somervaille AO (29 October, 1921 [Sydney Morning Herald May 6, 2008 obituary.] - April 14, 2008) was an Australian lawyer and company director. ] He also head the Overseas Telecommunications Commission, which later became known as Telstra.Robert Somervaille born in Strathfield, NSW. Somervaille planned to study law until World War 2 intervened. He later joined Hill Samuel now the Macquarie Group. [Sydney Morning Herald May 6, 2008 obituary.] Somervaille was named a member of the Order of Australia in 1984 and became an Officer of the Order of Australia in 1992. He died on April 14, 2008, at the age of 86.
