Highwinds Network Group

Highwinds Network Group (Highwinds) is a multi-platform IP services and Content Delivery Network (CDN) provider. The company headquarters are located in Winter Park, Florida, U.S.A.. Highwinds also maintains a Network Operations Center (NOC) in Phoenix, Arizona as well as European offices in Amsterdam and London. The Highwinds network, called RollingThunder, consists of 23 data centers throughout North America and Europe.

Financing announcement

On March 11, 2008 Highwinds announced it had closed a $55 million [ [http://www.redherring.com/Home/23912 Highwinds Grabs $55M] ] round of equity financing led by General Catalyst Partners [ [http://www.generalcatalyst.com/portfolio/highwinds General Catalyst Tech-Enables Services Portfolio] ] and Alta Communications [ [http://www.altacomm.com/misc1.htm#digitalMedia Alta Communications Digital Media Portfolio] ] . The funds will be used to expand the Highwinds CDN and RollingThunder network.
