1971 and sold to a subsidiary of the Grand Metropolitan Group, one of Europe's largest conglomerates, in 1973.Returning to the
moving industry in 1977, he founded Amertrans, in partnership with Yogesh Mehta, part of the English Asian community forced out of Uganda byIdi Amin in 1972. Together, they then acquired their old company, American Overseas Shipping, along with the subsidiary of Grand Metropolitan who had originally acquired his company in 1973.Over the next 25 years, the company traded as Amertrans operating within the corporate international moving market, working particularly for major oil companies.
