Personal life

Bravo was born on January 15, 1964 to Narciso Bravo, Sr., a lawyer, and Amparo Recio-Bravo, a teacher. He finished his elementary education in Masbate and his high school education in Quezon City, then his civil engineering course in Aquinas University in Legazpi City. He is married to a member of the powerful Espinosa political clan, Maria Vida Espinosa-Bravo, who is the daughter of two representatives, Tito R. Espinosa and Vida Versoza-Espinosa. Bravo has two sons, Vincent Martin and Byron Angelo.

Political career

When Rep. Tito R. Espinosa was assassinated on February 28, 1995, his wife Vida was chosen to replace him. She won the 1995 election easily and was reelected in 1998 and 2001. Bong (as he is known) was elected to the provincial board in 1995 and was reelected on 1998 and 2001.

During the 2004 elections he was chosen to replace Rep. Vida Espinosa because the later cannot run for the same post due to term limits. He won the congressional elections narrowly against then Mayor of Claveria Eduardo Andueza. He was again reelected with a better margin against former Vice-Governor Rainier Butalid in 2007. His wife Marvi (as she is known) lost the mayoral election of the municipality of San Fernando by 31 votes against incumbent mayor Helen Bunan, but revision is ongoing regarding the result.

Congress

Bravo is currently a vice-chair of the powerful committee on Appropriations and has voted in favor of the cheaper medicines bill and continuously supported President Arroyo by voting against the impeachment charges filed against her.
