Rui Fernando Silva Calapez Bento born 14th January,1972 in Silves,Portugal is a former Portuguese footballer and a current coach. He played as a central-defender.He played for Benfica, from of 1990 to 1992, and latter for Boavista, from 1992 to 2001. Then, he moved to Sporting Lisbon, were he played from 2001 to 2004, and spent a final season in Académico de Viseu, were he ended his player career, as a player-trainer. He won for Boavista the Portuguese Cup in 1997 and the Portuguese Liga 2001. He also won the same title for Sporting, in 2002. He's currently the trainer of Boavista F.C..

International career

Rui Bento was capped 6 times for Portugal, since his first game, at 20 November,1991, in a 1-0 win over Greece for the Euro 1992, qualifyings to the 0-4 defeat to France, the 25 April,2001, in a friendly match. He also played for the Olympic National Team, that reached the 4 th place in the 1996 Olympic Games, in Atlanta.
