Born Viktor Stefan in
Montreal , he studiedpiano withMichel Hirvy . Vogel has written, arranged and conducted music for ceremonies atExpo 67 , the Montreal Olympics in1976 , theCanada Games in1985 and for the half-time events at theGrey Cup in1981 and1985 . For the Olympics he arranged welcoming and theme songs from excerpts of works byAndré Mathieu .
