"Faerie Wars" is the first book in the Faerie Wars series by Irish author James Herbert Brennan. The book was released in 2004 and has been published by Bloomsbury for the UK version. There are now four books published to the series with a fifth to be released soon.

Plot and style

General Plot:There are many other worlds. The Analogue World, earth, The Faerie World full of different Fae, and Hael or Hell where demons live. When the prince of the faerie world, Pyrgus Malvae had managed to get himself into enough trouble that his life was on the line, his Father, the Purple Emporer had him 'translate' over to the Analogue world. In the mean time, civil war is about to break out in the Faerie World, the Prince of Darkness and ruler of Hael also wanted the Faerie World is plotting on using the civil war to his benefit and invade himself, and there are still kittens to be saved.

General Style:A fantasy action series that the author uses constant cliff-hangers and sarcasm as humour to break up the action. The story follows several characters at once bouncing between the various actions of each in a continuous timeline; often so as the keep the reader guessing as to what happens next.
