The Governor of Balochistan is the appointed
Head of State of the provincial government in Balochistan,Pakistan . The governor is designated by the Prime Minister and is normally regarded a ceremonial post. 1 July ,1970 during GeneralYahya Khan 's regime, unlike other provinces where there has been a governor since formation of Pakistan in 1947. During Prime MinisterZulfikar Ali Bhutto 's administration, twice the provincial governments were abrogated, first in 1973 and then in 1974-76, thus empowering the governor to take the helms of authority. GeneralMuhammad Zia-ul-Haq 's army rule of 1977-1985 also gave rise to GeneralRahimuddin Khan , the all power martial administrator of Balochistan, whose tutelage lasted for six years. Even during GeneralPervez Musharraf 's government, there was governor rule from 1999-2002.The current Governor is
Zulfikar Ali Magsi , who took over on28 February ,2008 .List of Governors of Balochistan
