The Howell Heflin Lock and Dam (formerly named "Gainesville Lock and Dam") is part of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. It is located close to Gainesville, Alabama, and it impounds Gainesville Lake. It is named for Howell Heflin, a former United States Senator from Alabama.
