The Mount Juliet Estate, named by the Earl of Carrick after his wife Juliet, has a Georgian manor home set on a hill overlooking the River Nore. The estate was purchased in 1987 by business man Dr.Tim Mahony (1931-2008) who developed the golf and hotel resort over the next 4 years. The estate has over 1,500 acres of land, incorporating a stud, golf course and residential properties.
The Golf Course
The par 72, 7300 yard layout boasts rolling fairways, many feature water hazards and contoured greens, all superbly blended into the spectacular setting of this famous old Irish Estate.
There is also a full 18 hole putting course. Venue for the annual National Putting Championship, this unique layout, set in the grounds of Mount Juliet House, boasts its own scorecard and green fee ticket. To complement the other exquisite facilities on offer at Mount Juliet, such as a driving range, putting greens and Golf Academy. The Golf Academy is run by Golf Professional, Sean Cotter, and features practice areas for all aspects of the game and for golfers of all levels of ability.
