Founded in 1985, Radiant Systems provides store technology for the hospitality, petroleum and convenience store, and movie theater industries. Headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia, Radiant's services are used on 50,000 sites worldwide.

Radiant focuses on delivering site management systems, including point of sale (POS), self-service kiosk and back-office systems, site management technology, customer loyalty programs, electronic gift card management, comprehensive reporting and systems management, and centralized data management designed specifically for the Company’s two reportable segments: Hospitality, and Retail.

Prior to 2006, the company operated in three primary segments: Hospitality; Petroleum and Convenience Retail; and Entertainment. In January 1, 2006, the company made the decision to condense its business into two reportable segments. These changes were made in order to increase management's accountability for revenue growth and operating performance. Radiant's site management solutions include software products, site hardware, professional services and support services.

Radiant offers solutions designed for ease of integration with operators' existing infrastructures. Radiant's site management technology enables hospitality and retail operators to improve customer service while reducing costs. Additionally, Radiant focuses on addressing the requirements of the highly specialized environments in which its customers operate.

In May 1997, Radiant completed the joint acquistion of ReMACS, Inc., based in Pleasanton, CA, and Twenty/20 Visual Systems, based in Dallas, TX. These were strategic acquisitions that formed the core of Radiant Hospitality Systems to assist with Radiant's entry into the Hospitality sector with the realization of 8000 installed sites.

In October 1997, Radiant completed the acquisition of RapidFire Software, based in Hillsboro, Oregon, to expand their position in the Hospitality POS market.

In November 1997, Radiant completed the acquisition of Logic Shop, Inc. based in Atlanta, GA. Logic Shop is a leading provider of management software to the convenient automotive service center market.

In March 2000, Microsoft made an equity investment in Radiant Systems to assist with the development and marketing of an integrated Web-enabled management system and supply chain solution to enable retailers to conduct business-to-business e-commerce over the Internet (BlueCube).

In January 2004, Radiant completed the split-off of its enterprise software business, now known as BlueCube Software, to Erez Goren, the Company’s former Co-Chairman of the Board and Co-Chief Executive Officer. Radiant retained the right to sell and market the Enterprise Productivity Suite, including functionality such as workforce and supply chain management, through a reseller agreement with BlueCube Software. The disposition of the Enterprise segment has allowed the Company to focus its efforts on better serving its core markets and increasing its market penetration.

Also in 2004, Radiant completed the acquisitions of Aloha Technologies, a leading provider of point of sale systems for the hospitality industry, and E-Needs, the leading provider of Film Management software and services in the North American exhibition industry. These were strategic acquisitions to assist in developing Radiant's Hospitality segment.

In October 2005, Radiant acquired MenuLink Computer Solutions, Inc., one of the largest independent suppliers of back-office software for the hospitality industry. The acquisition of MenuLink enables Radiant to deliver a tightly integrated solution linking Radiant hardware devices and Aloha POS applications to the open architecture and feature set of MenuLink's back-office software. The company reports the operations of the MenuLink business under the Hospitality segment.

In January 2006, Radiant extended its reach into the retail industry by acquiring substantially all of the assets of Synchronics, Inc., a leading provider of business management and point of sale software for the retail market. The Company reports the operations of the Synchronics business under the Retail segment.

In Decemeber 2007, Radiant announced it had entered into a definitive purchase agreement to acquire Quest Retail Technology, a global leader of point of sale (POS) and back office solutions to stadiums, arenas, convention centers, race courses, theme parks, restaurants, bars and clubs.
