Burr Shafer

Burr Shafer (b. 1899, d. 1965 in Orange County, California) was an American cartoonist. His cartoon collections featured the character of J. Wesley Smith appearing in various historical settings. [e.g. "Through History with J. Wesley Smith" and its sequels] His historical satires moved U.S. President Harry Truman to write "I'm very proud that I'm smart enough to get the point." [cite web
