Samin K. Sharma

Dr. Samin K. Sharma is a U.S. interventional cardiologist holding the American record for the highest number of complex coronary interventions performed annually, along with the highest angioplasty success rate in New York State. Biography

Dr. Sharma is currently Director of Interventional Cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.

Under his leadership, the Catheterization Laboratory at Mount Sinai Hospital was incorporated into Mount Sinai Heart – an effort to combine Mount Sinai's cardiac care resources.

In 1998, Dr. Sharma founded the Live Symposium of Complex Coronary Cases (CCC Symposium), where he remains a course director and which is attended by over 400 delegates annually. He is the Vice-President of the Rajasthan Development Foundation in India and serves on the Cardiac Advisory Board of New York State, which advises the New York Department of Health and the Governor's office on heart care in New York hospitals.

Education

Sharma received his undergraduate degree from Maharaja College in 1972 and his medical degree from SMS Medical College in 1978; both schools are in Jaipur, India. He is a graduate of Rajgarh Higher Secondary School in Alwar in Rajasthan state.

Sharma completed three fellowships at the Mount Sinai Medical Center and his residency (in internal medicine) at New York Downtown Hospital.
