Self-organizing workshop

Self-organizing workshop

Self-Organizing Workshops are focused on the construction of methods in an intensive and collective manner that are then practiced "in situ". The purpose of the workshops are to develop a toolbox of methods for the production of participatory forms of knowledge generation. Though the workshops are based on a theme, the focus on methods in these workshops is much stronger than the focus on content, or rather, the methods are the primary content.

The workshops prove fruitful for educators interested in reinvigorating the pedagogical toolbox, particularly for emergent fields and arenas of new knowledge production, where new teaching methods are required.

Skill Share workshops, though usually just one day long are a grass-roots form of knowledge sharing that fall under the larger rubric of self-organizing workshops.

Format of the workshops: 3-4 day intensive workshops with participation from usually 10-20 people. The workshops benefit from the guidance of a mediator.
