History

Yusof Ishak Secondary School was established in 1965 at Jubilee Road (a side road of a section of Pasir Panjang Road which is now known as West Coast Road) as Jubilee Integrated Secondary School with Jubilee Primary School as its affiliate. It was an integrated school offering secondary education to an enrolment of 984 pupils and 37 teachers of two streams, in English and Malay. At that time, it was envisioned that the school would be serving the needs of the families residing around Pasir Panjang Road area as there were several malay kampungs dotted all along it.
