Li Bin (
Chinese language :李斌;Hanyu Pinyin :Lǐ Bīn) (b. 1954) is a Chinese politician fromFushun , inLiaoning province. She graduated fromJilin University with a degree ineconomics , and went on to receive her doctorate and conduct research in the same field. Li joined theCommunist Party of China in June of1981 . She is the current chairperson and party secretary of theNational Population and Family Planning Commission , as well as a member of the17th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China .Biography
After graduating from Jilin University, Li continued to work in
Jilin province. Beginning as an ordinary teacher, she gradually worked her way up to the rank of deputy governor of the province. During her thirty years working in the province, Li worked in a variety of roles, including as a teacher at theChangchun educational academy, and as a Changchun information ministry department manager. In August of2007 , she became the deputy chairperson and party secretary of the National Population and Family Planning Commission. She was promoted to the rank of Chairperson in March 2008.
