In 1928, part of Erina Shire was split off to createWoy Woy Shire . In 1936, Gosford was again separated from Erina Shire as a new municipality.At the end of 1946, Erina Shire, Woy Woy Shire and Gosford Municipality were all dissolved, and replaced by
