Lyudmila Leontiyivna Denisova [ [http://gska2.rada.gov.ua/pls/site/p_deputat?d_id=8757 Ukrainian Parliament uk icon] ] ( _uk. Людмила Леонтіївна Денісова) (born July 6, 1960, Arkhangelsk, Russian SFSR) is a Ukrainian politician and current Minister of Labor and Social Policy in the government of Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko. She is married, and the couple has two daughters.

Professional career

Lyudmila Denysova graduated from Arkhangelsk Pedagogical School (1978), the Leningrad State University (1989) and the Tavria Institute of Enterprise and Law in (1995). She was also a teacher at a preschool in the Russian city of Arkhangelsk (school №78, 1979-80). Then nine years different posts in the Arkhangelsk provincial law court. In 1989, she moved to Ukraine and she became the legal adviser of the Crimean Provincial Committee of Ukraine (1990-91). From 1991, she worked in the Republic of Crimea's Administration of the pension fund until 1998. In 1998, she became the Minister of Economy and Finances in the Crimean government. Political career

In Ukraine's Autonomous Republic of Crimea, she served as Minister of Economy, Minister of Finance and head of the Treasury Department. For her service, she was named Politician of the Year in 2001. In 2000 Mrs. Denysova was detained charged with power abuse, this criminal case was soon closed. In 2006 and 2007 parliamentary elections, she was elected as a deputy to the Verkhovna Rada ("Ukrainian parliament") from the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc.

Minister

On December 18, 2007, Yulia Tymoshenko, with a margin of two votes, was elected Prime Minister.
