Roosevelt Kiser

Roosevelt Kiser (born May 30, 1985 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida) is an American football wide receiver.

High school

He attended Boyd H. Anderson High School in Fort Lauderdale and was a two-time Broward County, Florida All-Star as a quarterback. He was also a four-year scholar athlete.

Florida A&M

He is one of the most productive all-purpose performers in school history at Florida A&M. He was a three-year starter who finished his career with 4,519 all-purpose yards. He recorded 191 career receptions for 2,374 yards and 19 touchdowns. He ranked fourth in school history in receptions and sixth in receiving yards. He returned 70 kickoffs for 1,617 yards (that's 23.1 yard average per carry) and had 36 punt returns for 429 yards (that's a 13.7 yard average per carry). He also had 19 rushes for 99 yards. He was a two-time All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) performer as a receiver and kick returner. He led the team in his senior year with 63 receptions for 647 yards and five touchdowns. He started all 11 games they played that year. He had 33 kickoff returns for 821 yards (that's a 24.9 yard average per carry) with a long of 86 yards and averaged 9.9 yards per carry on 17 punt returns. He led the MEAC as a junior with 64 receptions for 739 yards and five touchdowns. He also returned 18 kickoffs for 402 yards (that's a 22.3 yard average per carry) and also posted a 16.4 yard average on 14 punt returns. He had a career-long touchdown catch with an 80-yarder against North Carolina A&T. As a sophomore, he finished with 60 receptions for 872 yards and eight touchdowns. He played in 11 games as a true freshman, recording only four receptions for 116 yards and one touchdown. In college his major was physical education in hopes to become a teacher some day.

Professional career

He originally signed as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars, joining fellow Florida A&M teammate Dan Parrish as well as another Florida A&M alumni, Quinn Gray. Kiser was released after the preseason only playing as a kick returner. He signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on April 16, 2008. He is a teammate with former Jacksonville Jaguars, Jason Mitchell and Kahlil Hill (both are also wide receivers) and current Jaguars linebacker, Justin Durant's older brother, Darian Durant. On May 15, 2008, he was traded to the British Columbia Lions in exchange for Amariah Farrow.
