Tuohy attended high school in
New Orleans at the prestigiousIsidore Newman School . One of the schools gyms, the Tuohy Gymnasium, is named after Sean's father, Edmund "Skeets" Tuohy, longtime basketball coach at the school.College
In college, Tuohy was outstanding, breaking several school and league records. Tuohy lead the Ole Miss Rebels to their first and only SEC Basketball Tournament Championship in 1981, and was eventually drafted by the New Jersey Nets. He instead decided to play overseas, but his career was ended short when his father had a very serius illness, and Tuohy never did restart his career after. His records deal mostly with assists and mins. played. Out of high school Tuohy was also drafted by the Red's to play baseball, but turned down this offer to attend college. He came into ole miss as someone who could score, and he left as someone who helped his teamates score. Tuohy is in the SEC hall of fame, and remains a legend in the heart of many Ole Miss Rebel fans.

Tuohy currently lives in
Memphis, Tennessee , and works as a broadcaster for theNBA team, theMemphis Grizzlies , in addition to owning severalTaco Bell franchises in the Memphis area.Much of his life with his adopted son,
Michael Oher , is chronicled in the book "The Blind Side " by noted author Michael Lewis. Lewis and Tuohy were classmates atIsidore Newman School .Tuohy also spends much of his time with his daugher, Collins Tuohy (A cheerleader at Ole Miss) and son Sean Jr. (15)
