Nicholas Henri de France (sometimes just "Nicholas de France")Fact|date=September 2008 was born at the
Château de Fontainebleau onApril 16 (orApril 13 ) 1607 and died onNovember 17 1611 at theChâteau de Saint-Germain-en-Laye . He was the second son of his parents and the couples fourth child.He was said to have been adored by his older brother
Louis XIII of France , then theDauphin ofFrance (heir to the throne) and his mother, he was given the traditional title andappanage of the Duchy of Orléans and from birth was called the duc d'OrléansFact|date=September 2008.His siblings were:

He was known as Monsieur d'Orléans or the "Prince sans nom" (prince without name) until the family, the
House of Bourbon , could come up with a name and was then called "Nicholas Henri" at hisbaptism .A year after his birth in 1608, his youngest brother was born. He was named Gaston Jean-Baptiste de France and was titled as duc d'Anjou as was customary for the third son.From a young age, he had been engaged to Marie de Bourbon , "duchesse de Montpensier" and hieress of to the
House of Bourbon-Montpensier .Nicholas Henri died at the age of four as a result of an epileptic attack. The title of duc d'Orléans reverted back to the crown and was later given to Gaston who outlived him for another four decades. His brother would also later marry Marie in 1626.
