Nanker Phelge (band)

Nanker Phelge (band)

The Nanker Phelge, presumably named after the Nanker Phelge pseudonym, were a short-lived Australian rock band (2002–2003) fronted by Rob Younger of Radio Birdman and New Christs. Other members included the drummer from the New Christs, Stu Wilson, and three of the Navahodads, Brendan Kibble, Brad Fitzpatrick and Mark Busby. The band was formed after the New Christs split up. They never recorded together, although live bootlegs are in circulation.Their repertoire was mid-1960s British R&B. Their first "gig" was playing to the teenage patients at an institution for the mentally ill where Stu Wilson was a resident nurse.
