Kanswa

Kanswa or Kansua is an ancient village of archaeological importance in Kota district in Rajasthan, India. [ [http://museumsrajasthan.gov.in/mounment_11.htm The Department of Archaeology and Museums, Government of Rajasthan ] ] At this place James Tod found an inscription in 1820 AD which reveals the rule of Jat king Maharaja Shalendra in Kota region in 5th century AD.

Maharaja Shalendra in fifth century AD established a kingdom, which extended from Punjab to Malwa and Rajasthan. [Thakur Deshraj: Jat Itihas (Hindi), Maharaja Suraj Mal Smarak Shiksha Sansthan, Delhi, 1934, 2nd edition 1992, pp. 208-211.]
