Lympstone station was opened with the railway on
1 May 1861 . It was renamed Lympstone Village in the 1990s to avoid confusion with the newLympstone Commando railway station that had opened on3 May 1976 . It is situated on an embankment, with a single platform; a disused second platform is now heavily overgrown. To the south the line crosses the village on a low

Lympstone Village is served by trains on the
Avocet Line from Exmouth to Exeter St Davids. Beyond St Davids they generally continue to either Paignton or Barnstaple. Connections are available at Exeter Central for Pinhoe and stations to Waterloo; passengers for other main line stations change at Exeter St Davids.References
