Paul Bishop is an author who was born in and currently lives in Los Angeles, California. He currently is a high-ranking detective in the Los Angeles Police Department with the current rank of Detective III, working in the West Bureau's sex crimes unit, and is an avid writer who has written and published several successful novels.

LAPD career

Bishop is the lead detective investigating prominent sexually-based crimes throughout western Los Angeles. A thirty year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department, Paul is currently the Commanding Officer of the Operations-West Bureau’s Sexual Assault Detail with responsibility for investigations in over twenty-five percent of the city, including Hollywood. His career includes over twenty years experience in the investigation of sexually-based crimes, including assault and rape. For the past eight years, his Sex Crimes Unit has had the highest number of arrests and crime clearance rate in the entire LAPD.

Writing Career and Critical Reception

The Los Angeles Times has called Paul Bishop ‘the closest equivalent of Joseph Wambaugh yet,’ and stated "Citadel Run" ‘could hardly be better.’ As a writer, Paul's byline has appeared in numerous national publications, and his short stories have been published in many anthologies. His previous novels include "Shroud of Vengeance", "Citadel Run", "Sand Against the Tide", and "Chapel of the Ravens". "Chalk Whispers" is the fourth novel in his "Fey Croaker" series, which includes "Kill Me Again", "Twice Dead", and "Tequila Mockingbird". He has also written feature film scripts and numerous episodic scripts for television.
