"Helsinki Times" was first established in 2003 by Rockfield Communications and is the first online newspaper in the world where an Avatar (named Oobio) represents the editor-in-chief. The website http://www.helsinkitimes.net was first registered on February 24, 2003.

"The Helsinki Times" is a tabloid and Finland’s only weekly newspaper published in English by DreamCatcher. Established in 2007, it is published on Fridays with an average print run of 15,000 copies. The newspaper is on sale at bookstores and kiosks through the country and is available on incoming Finnair flights to Helsinki. It is also subscribable and online.
