BMW will only produce 1000 production models in 2009 to satisfy World Superbike homologation requirements. It will feature traction control and is targeted to have a dry weight (motorcycle) of convert|190|kg|lb|0|abbr=on and produce convert|190|bhp|kW|0|abbr=on. The S1000RR is unlikely to be in dealerships until early 2010. While BMW has yet to set the price for the production bike, it is aiming to keep it competitive with Japanese super bikes.
