Howard Clifton Brown

Howard Clifton Brown

Howard Clifton Brown (3 April 1868 – 11 September 1946) was a British Conservative politician and Member of Parliament for Newbury.

The son of James Clifton Brown of Amelia Rowe, he represented Newbury from 6 June 1922 after being elected unopposed in a by-election. However, in the general election of the following year he lost by just 41 votes to his Liberal opponent, Innes Harold Stranger.

In the 1924 general election he was re-elected as Newbury's MP, which he remained until stepping down at the 1945 general election.
