Voice of Hope

Voice of Hope Ministries, Inc. is an American non-profit organization operating in Texas.

Voice of Hope was founded in 1982 by Kathy Dudley, and became a separate 501(c)(3) organization in 1983. It's mission is "to provide children living in the neighborhoods of West Dallas with strong character models, education support, life skills, and family support services needed to become productive Christian citizens." The agency's current chief executive officer is Edward Franklin.

Programs

"In meeting the needs of the whole child, Voice of Hope offers programs for youths 4-18 years old, including the Aspire After School program, Summer Day Camp, Mission Impact and other family assistance and community outreach programs." Youth Programs

ASPIRE - An after school program providing students ages 4-18 with homework help, food, friendship and Christian fellowship.

Summer Day Camp - Provides activities, fun, food and education for children and youth ages 4-18.

aturday Youth Programs

Delta Academy (sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta) - A career mentoring group for young ladies 11-14 years old focusing on the areas of math and science.

Trophies of Grace - A mentoring program for young ladies 11-18 years old.

Mission Impact - A mentoring program for young men 11-18 years old.

Youth Leadership Academy - A coeducational career mentoring program for students 14-18 years old.

Family and Community Support

Food Pantry (in partnership with the North Texas Food Bank) - An emergency food assistance program for families in West Dallas.

Free Fruits and Vegetables (in partnership with Hardies Fruits and Vegetables) - A daily free fruits and vegetables giveaway.

Holiday Outreach Programs - Special programs and community celebrations for various holidays throughout the year; open to families participating in other Voice of Hope programs.

Community Meetings - Voice of Hope hosts the Ledbetter Gardens community neighborhood watch meeting and a weekly Bible study for senior citizens.

Community Partners

Voice of Hope Ministries partners with the North Texas Food Bank to provide meals to the children and families of the community. Other partners include World Vision, the YMCA, Young Life, Mercy Street Dallas, and the West Dallas Initiative.
