Posavina (Serbian, Croatian and Slovenian Posavina, Serbian Cyrillic Посавина) is a name of the region along the Sava river basin in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina,

Bosanska Posavina is a Bosnian region along the river Sava basin.The area covers 2650 km2.The region is streaching from Sava river to the north,Motajica mountin to the west,mountins Ozren and Trebava to the south and Majevica mountin to the east.Croats made the majority of the population in this region.Today the region is predominetly inhabited by Serbs.

The region includes towns as Bosanski Brod,Derventa,Odžak, Modriča, Bosanski Šamac, Brčko, Orašje.

According to the pre-war 1991 consensus Bosnian Posavina was inhabited by 260.793 people.

* Croats : 131.542 or 51%
* Serbs : 77.723 or 29%
* Bosniaks: 18.726 or 12% The region is now largely uninhabitedFact|date=June 2008 , as almost all the houses are plundered, burnt and destroyed. Only few percent of people have returned to their homes. The majority of refugees live in and around the city of Slavonski Brod, Croatia right across the Sava River, while a minority emigrated to the European Union countries, the United States, and Australia.
