Serbia n hardcore-reggae band. The band was formed in the capital of Serbia,Belgrade .History
Eyesburn was formed in 1994, and the original line-up was: Kojot (Coyote) - guitar & back vocals, Laza-bass, Alek-drums and Nenad-vocals. The first album, "Freedomized", was recorded live at Belgrade club KST. During this period Eyesburn mostly played in Belgrade clubs, occasionally having gigs elsewhere in Serbia. During that period, second guitar player Gillespie joined the band and they started to work on the band's first studio album "Dog Life". However, the band's vocalist Nenad left the band just weeks before the band started recording in the studio, and Kojot had to take his place as a lead singer. After the album release, Gillespie also left the band, and the band leaving the band to carry on as a trio. At the same time, Kojot started to take role as a trombone player as well, and the band started musical exploration of other genres (reggae, dub, drum & bass) creating their own specific sound and mixture of styles which many people liked, expanding their fan-base. This led to expanding the line-up and Nino joined the band as a second guitar player. Soon after, Eyesburn recorded their album "Fool Control" which displayed the band's ability to grow, and opened doors for many opportunities in the music business. At that time, the band's line-up was:
*Alek - drums
*Laza - bass
*Nino - guitar
*Kojot - guitar, vocal, tromboneAs a result of their growing popularity they received an invitation for the pre-election tours "IT’S TIME" and "USE IT (your brain)", which they gladly accepted. These tours made it possible for Eyesburn to promote themselves around the country playing in towns they never played before.
Eyesburn recorded the soundtrack for the youth film "Munje", introducing itself to a wider audience. They have played over 400 concerts since then, mostly in Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Slovenia, making them one of the most active bands on scene in Yugoslavia. During 2001 and 2002, Eyesburn participated in the EXIT festival in
Novi Sad , where they performed along with Tony Allen (musician),Asian Dub Foundation and Fundamental. They also performed as guests in a Belgrade concert ofLee Scratch Perry (together with Ank Steady Spear), Burnin Spear, and bands likePro-Pain and Disciplin’ A Kitchme.Later the band recorded their albums "Gabau", which displays a turnover to reggae sound, and "Cool Fire", on which they worked with dub poet Ank Steady Spear, who wrote and performed the lyrics. Their next album "Solid" was released in May 2003 by
B92 and it was widely considered as their best album so far, both by fans and critics.Their growing popularity lead to an invitation from
Max Cavalera , asking them to appear on the song "Moses" on theSoulfly album "Prophecy" and to play on the 2004 Prophecy Europe Tour. Kojot also appears on the Soulfly album "Dark Ages".In March 2005 their line-up changed, when Laza (bass) and Nino (guitar) left the band, which came as a surprise to fans and critics. Their current line-up is: Kojot (vocal, trombone, guitar), Zoran Djuroski Djura (who gave up playing guitar and became a sound manager), Alek (drums), with new members: Dule (saxophone, ex Dvojac Bez Kormilara), Vucko (bass, ex Del Arno Band), Vukasin (trombone and back-up singer and Utvar (Partibrejkers drummer).
In April 2005 they started recording the album "How Much For Freedom?" in Novi Sad studio M and studio Cameleon in
Zemun . In December 2005 they published the album under PGP RTS. The album was published in Serbia and Austria.Discography
