"The Tide and Its Takers" is the fourth major label album by metalcore band 36 Crazyfists. It was released on May 27, 2008. The band has just finished filming the video for the album's first single, "We Gave It Hell", with director Soren, who has previously worked with the likes of Behemoth, and Unearth. The video was released on YouTube on May 06, 2008. The album reached 155 on the Billboard 200 in its first week as well as #4 Heat Seekers, #23 Hard Rock, and #11 Indie Albums. The Tide and Its Takers marks the highest first-week sales ever for the band (4150 copies USA). The Tide and Its Takers landed at #83 on the UK’s National album chart, as well as #2 on the Rock Chart.
