The Samsung Pro815 is a digital camera the Samsung Group supplies. It has a Schneider-Kreuznach lens, a TFT liquid crystal display, and Universal Serial Bus connectivity. Samsung announced the model prior to July, 2005, and planned a release in August, 2005. The most innovative feature of this camera is the 3.5 inch LCD screen that will allow for efficient reviewing of composition and photos. Further, the camera is equipped with a top lcd to give more options in creative shooting and the highest capacity lithium ion battery that exists for digital cameras at the moment (1900mah). The lens on the Samsung Pro815 is a Schneider-Kreuznach 7.2-108mm zoom, giving a 35mm equivalent view of 28-420mm. Maximum aperture is from f2.2 at the wide end to f4.5 at the telephoto end. Further the startup time of the camera is 1 sec with a shot to shot frequency of 1.5fps. The shutter lag also is minimal at 50ms. According to the published specifications, this new bridge camera from samsung will be really a dream that comes true that will change the balance between digicams and digital SLRs. The only obvious disadvantage of this camera is the absence of an optical stabiliser that will permit to take full advantage of the huge zoom range.
