Michael Bernd Schmidt (born March 6, 1968 in Offenbach, Hesse Germany), better known as Smudo, is a writer and rapper in the German hip hop group Die Fantastischen Vier.

Life

Michael B. Schmidt went to the Gerlingen school a high school and finished high school in 1988.^[1] When he is not in the studio making music with his band he is on the track. Smudo does racing of a special kind in a BioConcept car. In 2007 a BioConcept Mustang was finally finished and turned over to Smudo to drive in a variety of races to make a statement within the industry hopefully being that these kinds of cars can have a sustainability within the racing arena ^[1]

Trivia

A popular German urban myth is that Smudo and the entertainer and music producer Stefan Raab, who was behind the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest winner Lena Meyer-Landrut, are one and the same person. The myth is based on their similar appearances and that both are in the music industry. However, both have appeared together on German television (Verstehen Sie Spaß?!?, Fast Forward) so there is no substance to the rumour. After this rebuttal it has been suggested that they are twins, brothers, or otherwise related. This is however not the case. Smudo told the youth magazine Bravo that he is amused by the subject and remains a fan of Raab's expertise in the industry, although there are no plans for them to work together at present.

Also it has been suggested, in the same article, that Raab was behind the internet meme "Swap paperclip for property house" and his mansion in Ludwigshafen was procured through such an event. This is however thought to be a joke.
