Michael Brown is the mayor of Grand Forks, North Dakota as of 2008. He spent his childhood in Okinawa and came to Grand Forks as an United States Air Force officer. He attended the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. Today, Brown is an obstetrician at Altru Health System in Grand Forks.
He was first elected mayor in 2000 and was re-elected in 2004 and 2008. In 2007, Michael Brown was appointed to the advisory board of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
