Savvas Houvartas

Savvas Houvartas, "Greek": Σάββας Χουβαρτάς (b. 1968) is a Cypriot guitarist and songwriter. His compositions are influenced by jazz or rock,and are instrumental or with greek lyrics; overall areclose to the mediterranean music; improvisationis another characteristic of his music. He presents his music in festivals, concerts, and various other venues. His composition "Erimos" (music and lyrics by Savvas Houvartas) from his personal CD-single "Acoustic" is included in the Europavox Festival 2007 (France) compilation CD under the World Music category. In 2007 he performed his compositions at the "Savvas Houvartas Ethnic Jazz Concert" as part of the annual Kypria Festival of Performing Arts of the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture. In 2008 he was invited to perform his compositions at the Etnofest World Culture Festival - "Savvas Houvartas Ethnic Jazz Ensemble" - in Subotica in Serbia. In July 2008 he has also performed his compositions at the "Savvas Houvartas Acoustic Concert with special guest Evagoras Karageorgis" as a part of the University of Cyprus Cultural Festival at Axiotheas Mansion in old Nicosia in Cyprus. Ηe lives and works in Limassol, Cyprus.
