December 23 ,1916 inKitchener, Ontario -October 19 ,2001 inBoston ,Massachusetts ) was a Canadianprofessional ice hockey forward who played for theBoston Bruins in theNational Hockey League . A member of theKraut Line along withBill Cowley andMilt Schmidt , Dumart helped lead the Bruins toStanley Cup victories in 1939 and 1941. After leaving the NHL for three years to serve in theRoyal Canadian Air Force , Dumart came back to the Bruins in 1945, and would retire with the team in 1954.Along with
Bill Cowley andMilt Schmidt , Woody helped lead the Bruins inStanley Cup victories in 1939 and 1941. He was also a part of theKraut Line for Boston, which included Schmidt andBobby Bauer . He was inducted into theHockey Hall of Fame in 1992.On his way to
Ray Bourque night at the Fleet Center, Woody suddenly became ill withheart trouble and was taken to hospital, where he died October 19th, 2001.External links
