The club was founded in 1925 by a merger of various local clubs, and originally played at the Recreation Ground. They joined the
Norfolk & Suffolk League in 1935, and followingWorld War II they won the league three years in succession between 1946 and 1949 and again in 1952. They also won the league cup three years in a row from 1948 to 1950 and again in 1956, as well as theSuffolk Senior Cup , which they picked up in 1950 and 1961. They also began entering theFA Cup in 1950, which they continued to do until 1963. During their period of success, crowds reached four figures. However, they finished bottom in their first season, and withdrew at its end to become founder members of the Anglian Combination, which had been formed by a merger of the Norfolk & Suffolk League and the
East Anglian League .The club entered the
FA Vase between 1974 and 1983, but have not done so since.Honours
