Frank Jacobs

Frank Jacobs

Frank Jacobs is an American satire writer, known primarily for his work in "Mad", to which he has contributed since 1957.. While having written articles of all kinds, he is best known as a versifier who contributes parodies of famous song lyrics and poems.

His writing for "MAD" first appeared in issue #33 dated June 1957, to which he contributed five items, of which the first to appear in page order was "Baseball's Hall of Shame."

Jacobs was also MAD's "Designated Obituary Writer" and wrote fabricated obituaries for fictional characters from TV shows and comic strips.

Jacobs wrote several books under the MAD imprint, including "For Better or Verse", a collection of poetry parodies, and "The Mad World of William M. Gaines".
