Westminster Cathedral Choir School

Westminster Cathedral Choir School

Westminster Cathedral Choir School is a leading Catholic preparatory school for 150 boys aged 8 to 13 (Years 4 to 8). The school located in the heart of London, just a short walk from the Houses of Parliament, and in the heart of the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales, at Westminster Cathedral, just off Victoria Street.

The School is home to the thirty or so boarding choristers of the world-famous Westminster Cathedral Choir. Choristers come from all over the United Kingdom, and tour all over the world.

Westminster Cathedral Choir School also contains one hundred and twenty busy day boys, aged 8 to 13 (Years 4 to 8), from all over London. Day boys join from the central London pre-prep schools, and from primary schools all over the capital.

The School sets high standards. In academic work, music, sport and extracurricular life, boys are challenged, and expected not only to meet, but to surpass, their own expectations. Academic work is demanding, the standard of music for choristers and dayboys alike exceptionally high, the boys expected to extend their efforts in all they do, inside and outside the classroom.

Every year boys from Westminster Cathedral Choir School go on to leading public schools in London and beyond. Many achieve top academic and music scholarships.

The school has undergone somewhat of a renaissance recently under the new Headmaster, Neil McLauchlan.
